When to plant Garlic
Garlic does best planted in the Fall, 6-8 weeks before any freezing temperatures. It will survive the winter and resume growing the following spring, for harvest in the summer. If you miss this window, you can also plant soft-neck garlic early in spring. Soft-neck garlic grows well year-round in regions with mild winters.
